How to make a smartphone to control the delivery of drugs to the brain?

A team of scientists from Korea and the US has designed a wireless, smartphone controlled device using replaceable drug cartridges and Bluetooth that is able to deliver drugs straight into the brain. This device can also stimulate brain cells using light. Researchers believe that this device can accelerate efforts to uncover such diseases as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression. So far, the device has been tested in mice. The scientists are interested in further development of the product to make a brain implant for clinical applications.

In our almost 20 years as full-service CRO, we have gained wide experience in neurological clinical research development. Clinmark has planned and executed a brode range of neurology studies. The needs of our customes have been varied across product development plans, study conduct and market authorisation. Our recruitment strategy, deep site knowledge and dedicated project managers can help move your neurology product along the whole development pathway.
